Genre: Down-Tempo Hardcore / Deathcore
Location: San Antonio, Texas
EP Year: 2013
Enastasia combine the anger of modern hardcore with the backbone of down-tempo hate that bands such as Black Tongue are so profound of. A sub-genre that is slowly climbing the underground ranks to only succeed, perhaps even overtaking deathcore as a whole in a popularity scale. ‘Consumed‘ is the first single from the soon-to-be-released EP titled ‘Morals‘.
The track’s beastly combustion of pure annihilation begins from start to finish. The first ten seconds hit harder than a tidal wave as you’re pretty much smacked in the ear drums with the band’s ferociousness. Vocally reminding me of early Sworn In, Enastasia are going to easily gain a fair few fans after the release of their future EP, as clearly this genre has a thriving scene life in current metal and hardcore complications. The entire track is produced exactly how you’d expect, it sounds utterly destructive and is pulled off very successfully.
Just from listening to this single I can declare the band are one to watch with the EP release. Only time will tell on the matter, but with the sudden rise of down-tempo / beatdown bands springing into the deathcore and hardcore scene at the moment – there’s obviously no stopping this surge of menacingly heavy new bands, but Enastasia are definitely up on my ‘keep an eye on’ list, and so they should be on yours.
