‘Ghost In The Shell’ is the debut single from Miami based six-piece ‘With Honor We Fight’. The lyrical content of this track is based on the struggles experienced when helping a friend in need become a better individual, which is a subject that fans of the genre could possibly relate to.

The single itself isn’t bad at all. The first thing I noticed about it is the production quality, which is already at such a high standard for such a small band. The guitarists of this band already sound accomplished and provide the song with plenty of relatively complex melodies and the drums give the track an aspect of variety not often seen in modern day hardcore.

The one aspect of this track I was disappointed by were the vocals which consisted of both harsh vocals and shouts performed by two vocalists. Whilst the harsh vocals were okay, the shouting vocals lacked any real intensity and could be improved.

Overall, ‘Ghost In A Shell’ represents the starting point of what could possibly be a successful musical career for WHWF. With some practise and improvement, it would be hard not to see them become well known within the hardcore community. It would be very interesting to see what the future has in store for these guys.

For fans of: Hatebreed, The Ghost Inside, Heights, Defeater, Unearth, Liferuiner.

Rating: 7.5/10
